Whew! What a weekend! It is amazing how playing in the water is so much fun, but it totally wears you out. Friday we headed south to Seven Peaks. We meant to do this earlier in the week, but we had to postpone due to illness and stuff. We wanted to take Jon and Stacy with us before they went back to Vegas on Saturday, so we had to squeeze it in on Friday. It was really hot, which was great for a water park. Unfortunately, I ran out without my camera so I do not have any pics.
Jonah's favorite again this year was a ride call Cave In. This slide is totally enclosed and dark with the exception of a few spots that make it look like stars/space. He would laugh from the moment we started until we hit the water at the bottom....again and again. That made it all worth it right there.
Noah was the brave one this trip. He and Chris were the only ones daring (or crazy) enough to do Speed Breaker and Free Fall (see here). Jon got on Free Fall, but just couldn't go through with it, and I do not blame him. This was a huge boost to Noah's ego, which he probably does not need.
Zoe loved Jagged Edge and Boomerang, for Stacy it was the Vortex, and Jon was also into Jagged Edge and Cave In. We also had fun just floating in the wave pool. Other than a little sunburn on my back, it was a great day!
The next day we were off to Bear Lake to hook up with some of my "Tooele friends" and their families (none of which actually live there now, but we all grew up there): Arlette & John, Leslie & Pete, Karen & Gordon.
The Whole Gang
We got there a lot later than planned, but we still had enough time to have fun. As soon as we arrived we went out on Karen & Gordon's boat, and again I left the camera behind. The kids LOVED tubing! It was so funny to watch them give the thumbs up signal to go faster and faster...even J. We stopped the boat and jumped in for a swim. Noah and J didn't want to brave the cold water, but I think it was more the depth that scared them. Hopefully they'll grow out of that.
After a little more tubing it was back to the beach for sand castles, mud cakes and splash fights. All of our kids got along really well and enjoyed playing together, which made it even more fun for all of the adults. :)
After cleaning up all the beach gear, we headed in to Garden City for pizza. We were planning to stay in Logan, but by the time we got there the kids were all fast asleep so we decided to just keep driving. It was way too short, but still a great adventure!
