Today was one of those days. After being off antibiotics for a few days, Jonah's fever came back again this weekend. Even though his fever was down from the 103+ of yesterday, his lymph nodes were still really swollen.Of course when I called the doctor they wanted to see him. We know his body is fighting something, but frankly we do not know what. That led to testing. Jonah is not yet potty trained, which makes a urine sample interesting. The poor kid had to have a bag stuck around his unit. It was so uncomfortable and he was nervous to use it. It took him over four hours to go. Then came taking it off...
On top of that, we had to get blood drawn. Unfortunately, I did not go to the lab at PCMC. The lab we were at was obviously not used to small children. The lady could not find a vein and stuck the needle in his arm and was totally moving and twisting it around trying to get lucky. Nothing came from that, so she had to do it again in another spot. He was screaming! I was so grateful Chris came with me. It just broke my heart!
That pretty much covers the lows. I know this is too much info, but it is more for me. Of course, he has recovered from the trauma of the day (kids are so resilient) and was back to himself tonight. Also, thanks to my mom for covering carpool, soccer and dance while we were with J.
As for the high...listening to Chris and Jonah lying in my bed tonight singing Teach Me to Walk in the Light. What could be better?

ugh - that brings back such memories, we had to have way too many blood draws on Ruby last September. it never got easier. so sorry your little guy is in a bad way, hope it breaks soon.
We had to have Connor's blood drawn when he was about 8 - took 3 nurses and myself to hold him still. I think it scarred him for life! I hope you guys figure out what's wrong with the little guy. It's so sad to see them not feeling their best.
Sorry to hear your little guy's having trouble. Wyatt had to do the urine sample thing when he was a baby. I remember the sack hanging there! I hope that he's doing better - please keep us updated.
Hey D: I'm sorry. Some kind of aunt I am. I didn't even know that J had been sick. Keep me posted on how he's doing. Give him a hug (along with Zoe and Noah).
Looks like Lagoon was super fun! We'll have to plan some fun things together for the summer.
