Well, summer's over and school is here. We made a list of all the fun things we still wanted to do and the last three weeks of summer it was all about fun, fun, fun! Yes...it is another long, long slide, but too bad! Besides, I really could have made each activity a different post, so I am actually saving you time.
Our first adventure was to Clark Planetarium. We went to see Fly Me to the Moon in 3-D with Colette, Elliot and Bridger. It was really cute and I loved watching the kids reach out to touch what seemed to be right in front of their faces. You have to love those glasses too!
Next we were off to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. The line was out the door, around the corner and down the entire side of the building. Can you say $2 Tuesdays? We moms love a good deal, and it was definitely apparent. It cracks me up! It was such a good deal, that is, until we go to the gift shop and I figure it was only $2 to get in so why not buy a little treasure, and then I end up spending so much that I am really not saving anything, so why am I fighting the crazy crowds? Anything for a deal...
Boondocks was next on the agenda. We left Jonah home since it would be tortuous for him to watch us having fun and not be big enough to ride himself. We were lucky to have the Parker's join us though. My kids LOVE that place! Chris got a little revenge on Sadie on the bumper boats. She got him soaked at a water fight at my house a couple of weeks earlier, so he returned the favor. They were drenched! And even more exciting, I set a new personal best at laser tag (only a fraction of Chris' score, but still good for me).
I have never been to the Discovery Gardens at Thanksgiving Point and I was amazed. I can't imagine the cost of putting in the gardens. We went through the theme gardens first. The waterfalls were awesome! The kids really loved the secret garden too. We were there quite a while and I still did not see it all. I definitely need to go back (too bad $2 Tuesdays are over). We then headed back to the children's garden to play in the water around Noah's Arc. We were so glad to have the Parker's with us again; it always makes things even more fun when our friends are with us. Nana Z also brought Daelee along and made some great memories.
Our last big hurrah was Seven Peaks. I have lived in Utah my whole life and have never been there. This ended up being my kids favorite activity of the summer. We had SO MUCH FUN! They allowed me to take Jonah down a lot of the big slides on my lap, so we hardly went to the kiddie pools. He LOVED the big slides and would laugh the whole way down. I couldn't get many pictures, for obvious reasons, but his favorite was the "dark slide". It is an enclosed slide and so it's really dark inside. They have lights that look like stars and such, but you can't really see where you're going or what's coming next. I wish we would have had a little more time there. My only complaint is that they do not want you to wear shoes on the slides, yet they don't keep the sidewalks up. They were rocky and had lots of cooties, which completely GROSSED ME OUT! I have issues with that kind of stuff, but we all survived so I guess it is okay.
We took one more trip to Discovery Gateway with the Michaelson's. We were only there for a little over an hour, but the kids still had a great time. And, of course, no trip to Gateway is complete without a stop at Ben & Jerry's. Mmmmm...
Well, there you have it. That's some of what we've been up to. What a great end to summer!

You really did make the most of your last few weeks. I love all the pictures...and yes I watched the whole slide show. It wasn't that long.
I can totally see you freaking out about walking around seven peaks without your shoes. I guess if you get some rare fungus you'll know why!? :)
